The Sonic statue I mentioned a week or two ago now is up for preorder through Sideshow Collectibles! This 12″ guy is an awesome collectible for any retro gaming fans and comes on a base reminiscent of the first level of the original Sonic game. He’ll be shipping later this year.

First 4 Figures is building a reputation for producing awesome statues based on classic video game properties, and the trend continues with their announcement of this upcoming 12″ Sonic the Hedgehog statue. The inaugural piece in a promised series of Sonic collectibles, this statue comes posed on a numbered base inspired by the first level of the video game. He’s going to be limited to an as yet undetermined edition size and will be releasing in December of this year.

Sideshow is on board one of the biggest upcoming PC games with their new Diablo III license. The first piece, in production now and shown at the San Diego Comic Con, is the Overthrown diorama statue, spotlighting the barbarian character from the game. The statue will come in exclusive and standard editions, with the exclusive including an interchangeable head to allow display with and without the horned helmet.

The second piece in First 4 Figures’ Legend of Zelda statue line is on the way, and it’s the Skull Kid!
