Review: Ringwraith Legendary Scale Bust

Lord of the Rings Ringwraith Legendary Scale Bust 010

This week I added my very first Lord of the Rings collectible by Sideshow to my personal collection. Previously all my LOTR stuff has consisted of Gentle Giant’s fantastic animated style statues, but this piece looked cool enough to draw me into the Sideshow stuff. Here’s my review of the Ringwraith Legendary Scale Bust with photos.

Sideshow Gives Fourth of July Discounts

Sideshow Collectibles has a new coupon code for some of their military items in celebration of the Fourth of July. The selection of toys available really is eclectic, from soldier zombies to Commander Praji to their Napoleon premium format figure. If you purchase any of the items in the promotion and use the code FOURTH2008 during checkout, you’ll get a $15 discount. Not too shabby, if you’re looking to fill out your 12″ collection.

Medicom: Ghostbusters, Care Bears, and New Star Wars at Expo

Medicom’s 2008 Toy Expo is underway right now, and a lot of cool photos of Japanese collectibles have been making their way onto the internet. Here’s a look at some of my favorite upcoming pieces in their Kubrick and Vinyl Collectible Doll lines.

Among a lot of cool designer-style toys, there was a lot of awesome licensed property shown, including a line of Ghostbusters Kubrick figures. The series includes all four Ghostbusters, plus Slimer, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and even the Ghostbusters Logo Ghost.

There was a lot of Star Wars on display as well. Some of the coolest pieces included new Vinyl Collectible Dolls of R2-D2 and Darth Maul, as well as a bunch of new additions to the Star Wars Kubricks line.

Last but not least, I had to include these Kubrick Care Bears, just because they’re so darn cute.

Sideshow Collectibles: Buckeye Roy Vinyl Collectible

Sideshow Collectibles has announced that they’re distributing the Buckeye Rot vinyl figure from Wheaty Wheat Studios. The blurb straight from Sideshow says:

This 6″ round rotten veggie with a beef to settle will be released soon, after two years served on the vine. He’s none to happy with the cards he’s been dealt or the knife in his back.

Buckeye Rot regular comes detained in his very own wooden crate (for your safety)!

This knife-wielding figure comes with two sets of hands, two knifes one for each hand or you can stab one in his back and then change his hand to the double birds. Buckeye Rot…… puts the word ill in killer tomato!

Limited to 804 of the Regular Buckeye Rot.

He’s due out in the fall and is now up for preorder for $79.99.

It’s not up for preorder just yet, but you can get a peek at the Big Baby on Sideshow’s website.
